Mission
Christmas
Unlimited serves children in El Paso and Teller counties, at or below the
poverty level, with two distinctly different programs.
During
the holiday season Christmas Unlimited distributes toys to the family’s adults
in a store-like environment, allowing them to select gifts for their children.
This method of distribution promotes family unity and parental self-worth —
having an impact far beyond that of just making a child happy on Christmas Day.
Operation
Back To School provides basic school supplies to families in need, giving their
children an opportunity for success based on ability rather than economic
advantage. There are two phases of distribution, one to individual families and
the second directly to schools serving economically challenged neighborhoods.
Service
Levels
Families
served are from El Paso and Teller counties. Over the past six years 57% of the
families served have been "one timers". During that time, only 7% of the
families served have used the service every year.
